Four things that win close games
- Release at the top of the jump, not on the way up. The shot tracks the moment you press, and a rushed press is the single commonest miss in this game.
- Pump to move the defender, then go. The AI and most human opponents commit to a block early; a pump costs you almost nothing and buys a clean look.
- Do not spend the super shot on an open lay-up. It is worth the most on the contested possession you would otherwise miss — late, tied, under pressure.
- Steal on the catch, not on the dribble. Pressing shoot near an opponent attempts a steal, and the window is widest in the instant the ball changes hands.
